Progress
Well, we’ve been live for a bit less than a week…but we updated the website today…hope all of you can appreciate the performance imrpovements…and the “Play” section actually shows how many games there are in total, so I can chuck my calculator in the bin
We’ve also discovered some issues with the site and fixed many of them. Though you can expect weekly changes for the next 2 to 3 weeks as we update “look and feel” as well as usability issues, feel confident that the database will not change so your reviews, comments etc……and …most importantly …uploads…will not change.
Expect that we’ll announce our first competition soon…with some very enticing cash prizes… and keep your feedback coming because we listen !!!

Glad with the higher speed. The site was annoyingly slow.
I like the competition idea. With cash prizes… yay!
May 2nd, 2007 at 03:04 pm
By the way, can you remove the public age indication?
May 2nd, 2007 at 03:13 pm
Just lie about your age, this is, after all, the Internet.
May 2nd, 2007 at 04:09 pm
I can`t change my date of birth anymore…
And by the way, I have never seen an EULA running…

May 2nd, 2007 at 05:03 pm
Have you thaugh about the ‘colour scheme’ ?
And in the front page … I cant see the sliding pics of featured games any moe … what may be the reason ?
May 3rd, 2007 at 12:03 am
Maybe it didn’t load properly, probably your internet just stopped for a while. Then again, if this happened more than once…
May 3rd, 2007 at 03:59 am
This is happening everytime … My internet connection is not slow either… Do I need any kind of plugin or script enabled to see the sliding of pics ?
May 3rd, 2007 at 02:45 pm
sounds cool!

Great, superb, fantastic.
The speed improvement is much appreciated.
May 5th, 2007 at 03:14 pm
If I understand correctly, the GMC will continue to be used for Game Maker-related things and the YoYo forums will be used for the game playing?
Quote from the YoYo Games site

Meet and share with official gamemaker developers.”

You have to enable javascript….
May 6th, 2007 at 07:18 pm
Only people who overreact or visit “special” sites will disable javascript.
May 6th, 2007 at 09:27 pm
Those people are around… xD
May 6th, 2007 at 11:31 pm
What do you mean by special sites? I think we all visit them anyway… I do.
May 7th, 2007 at 11:11 pm
I like the site very much. Congratulations!
About the cash, lol, nice =)… And… what about a blog section for every user?
Maybe a little customizable site, where we could post something about our designing process or something else.
Bye bye from Spain!
May 8th, 2007 at 06:30 am
You need Javascript and Flash.
May 8th, 2007 at 12:22 pm
Special sites could be Warez sites. Because a lot of sites use warez as cover for malware download. And here they could use javascript.

any progress after the progress?
May 12th, 2007 at 11:20 pm
Nope, there is no progress after the progress. It all ends here :O.
May 15th, 2007 at 04:12 pm
Hey sandy! Any “progress” on getting my gm7 registration info sent back to me??? Is anyone still working on this problem? Just want to make sure you didn’t forgot me.
May 17th, 2007 at 11:29 pm
Abandon all progress, ye who name their GLOG entry “Progress”.
May 19th, 2007 at 01:35 pm
How come the only games that show up on “Featured Games” are from “Anonymous”?
May 20th, 2007 at 02:38 am
Frankie from bungie posts more updates than you do.

May 22nd, 2007 at 12:59 am
it sure would be nice to have an update… progress on the site? at all? like with finding the eula? or anything?
May 22nd, 2007 at 11:58 am
Honestly, EULAs can’t run that fast, right?
May 22nd, 2007 at 06:02 pm
Yea, and it`s been missing for a long time now
Isn`t there any progress then?
May 23rd, 2007 at 11:32 pm
I’m a little confused… can we not search by creators on the YoYoGames site? I seem to only have immediate access to the best of the best creators via the main page.
May 24th, 2007 at 05:12 am
Instead of finding the “EULA” why don’t YoYo Games re-write it?
How long does it take to get the entire site updated?
When will YoYo Games figure out how to make Game Maker’s registration problem with softwrap go away?
What next major feature is YoYo Games designing for Game Maker 7.1, etc.
Before in the past Mark Overmars announced that there were ideas about “Force Feedback” features, Is this ever going to happen?
Why is the extension mech for Game Maker 7 only for pro users?
Will there ever be support for flash, html, java, ect. for Game Maker *.*
May 24th, 2007 at 06:23 pm
“Why is the extension mech for Game Maker 7 only for pro users?”
To give people reason for upgrading
“Will there ever be support for flash, html, java, ect. for Game Maker *.*”
No, Mark Overmars said that will not be added
May 25th, 2007 at 10:18 pm
“Isn`t there any progress then?”
You bet there’s been progress. *wink*

Camman (I am assuming you are staff at YYG)… could someone please do something about the report I filed a week ago, about a member impersonating me? A handful of people have been reporting this issue for a week, and so far as I can tell, not a thing has been done about it. The guy has already gone on one rampage of posting insults and garbage, and I would really like for that not to happen again.
May 26th, 2007 at 01:11 am
Lord no! I just know a few things thats all. I think you should email support@yoyogames.com or admin@yoyogames.com about it.
May 26th, 2007 at 01:11 am
PS: By it I mean the issue you were talking about.
May 27th, 2007 at 12:24 am

I thought those tags worked… example
text here
May 28th, 2007 at 08:53 am
Nope they don`t. Only html tags work
May 28th, 2007 at 01:02 pm
Since I haven’t gotten a reply from support@yoyogames.com, I have a problem I’ll ask here.
It’ll sound kind of dumb, but…
I have no idea how to install extensions. Yes, I have the Pro version. Can someone give me step-by-step instructions for extension installation? Please!
May 28th, 2007 at 07:56 pm
click the green +.
click install.
click install.
navigate to and double-click the extension.
click ok.
click the extension name.
click the blue left arrow.
May 29th, 2007 at 04:48 pm
You might also want to check the manual.
May 31st, 2007 at 07:55 pm
Does the Game Maker 7 Pro pre built extensions by Mark Overmars only work in gml?
May 31st, 2007 at 09:59 pm
“click the green +.
click install.
click install.
navigate to and double-click the extension.
click ok.
click the extension name.
click the blue left arrow.”
Yes, but where are these located?? I have searched my computer for those available extension packages, but I can’t find them.
June 2nd, 2007 at 04:52 am
@Dr. Cakey
Are you talking about the official extensions or unofficial extentions?
If Official you should look in the directory of…
C:/program files/gamemaker7/extensions/filename.*
If Unofficial you must install them directly to…
C:/program files/gamemaker7/extensions/
If you have questions please ask.
also I may have the names of directory incorrect because I am working with a public computer and can not install Game Maker 7 Pro, Sorry!
June 2nd, 2007 at 12:04 pm
The packages are indeed where you specified, but there’s another problem. There are DAT and GED files of all the available extensions, but no GEX files, which is what GameMaker is looking for. Is it just something wrong with my copy of GameMaker?
June 2nd, 2007 at 10:37 pm
@Dr. Cakey
No your copy of game maker is working properly but you may need to change your entension from gex to dat when making extensions with extmaker.exe in order to change the extensions you will need a program to change gex to dat by this link http://www.yehiaeg.com/extchang.exe (Don’t worry it is safe the last time I used it, Just to be safe scan it), For some reason game maker does not recognize gex it only runs dat.
If You Have Any Questions Just Ask.

@Dr. Cakey
I re-read your problem, try updating your system by uninstalling game maker then re-installing game maker 7 again, Your Pro Edition should always stay pro no matter how many times gm7 is uninstalled/installed.
The files are stored in a certain directory which I can’t tell any one about it. Un-installing Game Maker 7 does not effect anything because it is created when gm7 is ran for the first time then when pro it updates registry plus files in directory.

@evindevore: uninstalling DOES make it go back to lite.
one of my friends had a problem where it wouldn’t let him use extensions (gave an error message when trying to install them and didn’t show any of the extensions that came with game maker) So then he reinstalled it but now it says he is unregistered and won’t let him re-register because it says that his code has already been used.
June 3rd, 2007 at 06:04 am
@d41
You may be right depending on the os, example (me, xp, lunix, and vista)…
I have Microsoft® Windows Xp® Home Edition so it does not effect my game maker at all, I did this twice already
but others may be different, So I agree with you…
Your friend can enter the code that he was given in his very first email into the very top of Game Maker 7 Softwrap form.
I only tell people tips, hints and information from my own experience *Not What I Think*.
